Breast Cancer:
Breast cancer has touched the lives of countless individuals, remaining to be a critical health concern worldwide. This insidious disease not only affects the physical well-being of those diagnosed, but also has profound emotional and psychological ramifications for patients and their loved ones.

My mother was diagnosed with Stage II Breast Cancer while I was in the womb. She went through a lot of chemotherapy to kill the cancer in her left breast. She had to understand the risk factors, regular screenings, and adopting a healthy lifestyle are crucial steps towards preventing and managing breast cancer. It's not just a women's issue – men can also be affected, less frequently.
The journey of a breast cancer diagnosis is a rollercoaster of emotions, ranging from fear and uncertainty to hope and resilience. Support networks, comprising family, friends, and healthcare professionals, become pillars of strength during this challenging period. The power of community and shared experiences cannot be overstated, providing solace and fostering a sense of unity among those facing the battle.
Advancements in medical research have paved the way for innovative treatments, offering new hope to patients. From targeted therapies to immunotherapy, the landscape of breast cancer treatment continues to evolve, promising better outcomes and improved quality of life.
However, the fight against breast cancer extends beyond the realm of medicine. Breast cancer awareness month, observed globally in October, serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of education and early detection. The iconic pink ribbon symbolizes solidarity and stands as a beacon of hope, reminding us that together, we can make strides in destroying this disease.
As we navigate the complex terrain of breast cancer, it is imperative to recognize the strength and resilience of survivors and those currently battling the disease. Their stories inspire courage and serve as a testament to the unbeatable human spirit.
In conclusion, the fight against breast cancer is a collective effort that transcends boundaries and embraces compassion. By fostering awareness, supporting research, and creating a culture of understanding, we can work towards a future where breast cancer is no longer a pervasive threat. Together, we can empower lives, raise awareness, and stand united against breast cancer.
Mentoring:
This week I was able to get a final word on my placement at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. I will be

mentoring multiple doctors to get the experience of each patient appointment. Dr. Melissa Rose who is the Associate Professor of Pediatrics will be helping me along with Amber Crabtree. I hope this opportunity will let me know if Pediatrics Oncology is really what I want to go into.
