Nationwide Children's
Hospital
Nationwide Children's Hospital, was founded by central Ohio women in 1894. It was originally established with the purpose of providing medical care to children in central Ohio. Over the years, its purpose has evolved to not only provide medical treatment but also to conduct research, educate healthcare professionals, and advocate for children's health on a national scale. As the needs of children and healthcare have evolved, so has the hospital, growing into one of the largest pediatric healthcare and research institutions in the United States. As of the latest data, NCH is a sizable institution, employing thousands of individuals dedicated to pediatric healthcare, research, and advocacy. The exact number of employees can vary but typically ranges in the thousands. They are primarily based in Columbus, Ohio, and does not have additional locations. However, it collaborates with various healthcare institutions and research centers worldwide to advance pediatric healthcare and research. They are consistently ranked among the top pediatric hospitals in the United States. They offer internships across various departments and specialties.
About My Mentors
While I was at Nationwide Children's Hospital I was able to mentor a lot of specialists on the Oncology and Hematology floor. Due to privacy I am not allowed to mention the doctors I mentored under. I would like to say I was very grateful for this opportunity it taught me how to reassure a parent with concerns, handle a troubled kid, but also keep it professional with patients, parents, and other medical staff employee.
